DIVORCE & SEPARATION
Contempt of court in Family law
Contempt of court is a critical concept in legal systems around the world, designed to uphold the authority and dignity of courts. It encompasses a broad range of behaviours, from disrupting court proceedings to failing to comply with court orders.
In family law, contempt often arises when one party disobeys a court order relating to child custody, visitation, or financial support.
Divorce mediation
Within families, numerous events can become sources of conflict. Family disputes have the potential to create a climate of tension and strain relationships among various members.
However going through legal proceedings may not always be the most suitable solution. State justice delivers judgments and decisions that bind the parties involved. However, resolving a dispute through legal proceedings does not necessarily contribute to social peace and may not always lead to a peaceful resolution of underlying issues.
Cohabiting couples
In France, cohabiting is the simplest and freer legal solution. The French word for cohabitation is “concubinage”.
According to the French civil law article 515-8, cohabitation is defined as two same-sex or different people, who are unmarried or not in a civil partnership living together in a long-term relationship.
Splitting up when you’re cohabiting is legal-consequence free except if there is a serious ground.
